The Indian cricket team skipper once again failed to impress as his side slumped to a humiliating 0-3 Test series defeat in Mumbai on Sunday. Rohit scored 18 off 18 balls in the first innings before he was dismissed by Matt Henry while his stay at the crease ended in 11 balls during the second innings. The star batter has struggled massively to score runs in red-ball cricket and former Indian cricket team star Sanjay Manjrekar pointed out the 'real problem'. In an interaction with ESPNCricinfo, Manjrekar dissected Rohit's batting and said that instead of making the proper connection, he has been trying to clear the boundary with pure strength.

There were huge expectations from the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to bail out the team and earn a consolation win. Both fell prey to the tricky of New Zealand spinners on Sunday.
The Wankhede Test against New Zealand offered an opportunity of redemption but barring Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill, none of the Indian batters managed to step up. The biggest disappointment of all was the performance from stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Both ended the series with less than 100 runs each in the 3-match series. At the post-match press conference, India captain Rohit was bound to face some tough questions, especially regarding his and Virat's form. Rohit didn't hesitate, admitting that seniors not scoring runs is a big concern.
