PARIS : Highlights of the eighth day at the French Open, the second Grand Slam of the year, on Sunday (times GMT):
Martina Trevisan booked her place in the French Open quarter-finals on Sunday, edging out Aliaksandra Sasnovich in straight sets. The world number 59 won 7-6 (12/10), 7-5 to reach the last eight at Roland Garros for the second time in three years.

Sania Mirza and Czech Lucie Hradecka used experience and their stellar power game to get their French Open campaign off to a telling start. The Indo-Czech pairing, aged 35 and 37 respectively, will go up against the Slovenian duo of Kaja Juvan and Tamara Zidansek in the second-round. “It’ll be similar to our first match, they’re also singles players, like in our opener (against Jasmine Paolini and Martina Trevisan),” the Indian said.
PARIS : The French Open was not kind on Friday to the Saville household with Australians Daria and Luke eliminated from their competitions but the pair will always have Paris, Daria said.
Sania Mirza notched up contrasting wins along with their respective partners in the men's and women's doubles competitions at the French Open here on Thursday. While Bopanna and his Dutch partner Matwe Middelkoop marched into the pre-quarterfinals with a straight set win over Andrey Golubev and Fabrice Martin, Sania combined with Czech Republic's Lucie Hradecka to prevail in three sets over Italian duo of Jasmine Paolini and Martina Trevisan in their opening round.
Rohan Bopanna and his Dutch partner Matwe Middelkoop progressed to the men's doubles second round of the French Open with an easy straight-set win over local wild cards Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg and Luca Van Assche in Paris on Tuesday. The experienced 16th seeded Indo-Dutch pair had no trouble in dispatching the lower-ranked home combo 6-4 6-1 in the opening round.
