Fast bowler Jofra Archer was Tuesday ruled out of the Ashes with a stress fracture to his right elbow as England announced their Test squad to face Ireland next month. The 28-year-old Sussex quick, who was recently in action in the Indian Premier League, will not play again "for the rest of the summer", the England and Wales Cricket Board said in a statement. "Recent scans revealed he has sustained a recurrence of a stress fracture to his right elbow," the ECB said. "He will now spend time with the England and Sussex medical teams, who will work on his injury management."
Lucknow Super Giants will be squaring off against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next IPL 2023 match on Monday at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The KL Rahul-led side will be coming to this clash after a thumping win over Punjab Kings, where they posted a huge total of 257 in 20 overs and won the match by 56 runs. In their previous meeting against RCB, LSG won the match by 1 wicket in a last-ball thriller. As their star all-rounder Marcus Stoinis picked up a minor injury during the fixture against PBKS, there are chances that he might be rested against RCB.
Lucknow Super Giants take on Punjab Kings in a crucial mid table clash in the Indian Premier League on Friday. Midway through the season, both teams have won four games from a possible seven, with LSG ahead due to a superior net run-rate. However, LSG suffered a defeat in their previous outing, losing to Gujarat Titans, following an inexplicable batting performance. Having said that, LSG could possibly make a few rotations in their playing XI, with Quinton de Kock most likely to play his first game of the season.
Lucknow Super Giants would be looking to move on from an inexplicable batting performance when they take on Punjab Kings in a crucial mid table clash in the Indian Premier League on Friday. Halfway into the competition, both teams have four wins from seven games and would be aiming to find consistency in the tight race to the IPL play-offs. Though Lucknow pitch has not been ideal for batting, skipper K L Rahul's strike rate became the talking point again as his team failed on Saturday last to chase down 136 against Gujarat Titans from a commanding position.
Lucknow Super Giants pace spearhead Mark Wood is set to miss the final stages of the IPL to attend the birth of his child next month. The right-arm pacer has featured in four games for the Super Giants, snaring 11 wickets at an economy of 8.12. He has, however, missed LSG's last two meetings due to illness. "Wood and his wife Sarah are expecting their second child towards the end of May, and Wood will fly home at some point in the coming weeks in order to be present at the birth," a report in ESPNCricinfo stated.
After defeating Rajasthan Royals by 10 runs, Lucknow Super Giants will be squaring off against Gujarat Titans in their upcoming IPL 2023 match on Saturday, at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. The KL Rahul-led side introduced Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul Haq into the attack and the debutant impressed everyone with the figures of 0/19 in 4 overs. Naveen was played in the place of star pacer Mark Wood and the management is likely to go ahead with the same line-up against the defending champions.
Lucknow Super Giants beat Rajasthan Royals by 10 runs in the IPL in Jaipur on Wednesday. Kyle Mayers top-scored for LSG with 51 off 42 balls, taking them to 154 for seven. R Ashwin was the standout Rajasthan bowler with two wickets. Royals could only manage 144 for six in 20 overs, with Avesh Khan taking three wickets for LSG. Despite the loss, RR are still on top of the IPL 2023 points table with eight points in six games (NRR 1.043) while LSG have consolidated their second place in the IPL 2023 table with eight points from six games. They are behind on NRR (0.709).
