South Africa, who will head to the marquee event on the back of their white-ball series loss to India, have been hit by a spate of injuries. The Proteas will miss the services of Rassie van der Dussen and Dwaine Pretorius. Skipper Bavuma himself is under pressure as he has not been in good nick since his return from an elbow injury.
South Africa have named Marco Jansen as the replacement for all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius in the T20 World Cup squad after the player sustained an injury and was ruled out of the tournament. Pretorious, who played a pivotal role for South Africa with both bat and ball in recent years, will miss the T20 World Cup after breaking his left thumb during the recent T20 International series against India. Initially included in the reserves, Marco Jansen has been named as a replacement in the 15-player squad that will fly to Australia for the T20 World Cup.
Tall left-arm seamer Jansen replaces injured Dwaine Pretorius, who fractured his left thumb in the recent series in India. Jansen, 22, has a single T20 appearance against India in June, but has been a regular member of South Africa’s test squad over the last 12 months.

After picking one wicket each in the first two matches, Kuldeep put on a show in the third ODI, claiming a 4-for. Speaking at the innings break, Kuldeep revealed he tried to add some freshness to his bowling ahead of this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) and since then he has been really enjoying his bowling.
The pace bowling allrounder, who was the joint-highest wicket-taker for South Africa in the T20 World Cup last year, sustained the injury during the third T20I against India in Indore -- the only match he played in the series.
