Alvaro Morata scored twice as Juventus beat Sampdoria to maintain their grip on fourth place and stay in touch in the Serie A title race.
ROME: Alvaro Morata scored twice as Juventus extended their unbeaten run with a 3-1 win over Sampdoria in Serie A on Saturday, to boost their confidence days before their Champions League decider against Villarreal.
Juventus continued their slow creep into the Serie A title race on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Spezia which moved them to within five points of leaders Inter Milan. Alvaro Morata scored for the first time since mid-January with 20 minutes on the clock at the Allianz Stadium in Turin to keep Juve on the heels of champions Inter, who hammered Salernitana 5-0 on Friday.
AC Milan have taken what could prove to be a crucial step toward a first Serie A title in more than a decade with 1-0 victory at Napoli, one of their main rivals.

Alvaro Morata's first-half strike was enough to give Juventus victory against Spezia despite an unconvincing display in their Serie A clash. The only goal of the game came after 21 minutes when Dusan Vlahovic stole the ball just outside the penalty area and flicked a pass to Manuel Locatelli who immediately played the ball on to Morata in the left hand side of the area, and the Spaniard finished with aplomb.
Dusan Vlahovic scored twice as Juventus edged Empoli in a thrilling encounter to move to seven points behind Serie A leaders AC Milan.
There has been a clear sign that Arsenal intend to strengthen the central midfield in the near future through prior and current links to some of the top midfielders in the game.
