Aavishkar Salvi, who was on Tuesday named the Punjab senior men team’s head coach for the upcoming season. Salvi has been the bowling coach of Oman, who qualified for the T20 World Cup in UAE last year, since September 2019 on "an assignment basis". History beckons the Indian men's hockey team as it looks to end Australia's dominance in the Commonwealth Games by securing a maiden gold in the quadrennial showpiece here on Monday. Olympic bronze medallist India eked out a hard-fought 3-2 win over South Africa to qualify for the men's hockey final of the Commonwealth Games here on Saturday. Abhishek (20th minute), Mandeep Singh (28th) and Jugraj Singh (58th) scored for India, while South Africa's goals came from the sticks of Ryan Julius (33rd) and Mustapha Cassiem (59th).
