Britain's Emma Raducanu defeated Magda Linette 6-2 6-2 to secure her spot in the semi-finals of the Korea Open on Friday, reaching the last-four of a tournament for the first time since her triumph at last year's U.S. Open.
Emma Raducanu defeated Magda Linette in the quarter-finals of the Korean Open in straight sets, 6-2 6-2. The win for the teenage Briton is the first time she has won three consecutive matches since her sensational US Open triumph last year, after a season in which she struggled to match her 2021 form from New York.
Emma Raducanu beat Yanina Wickmayer in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals of the Korean Open in Seoul. Sixth seed Raducanu won 6-3 7-5 after reeling off three games in a row to win the first set and was on course to take a relatively easy victory after breaking early in the second. Ad But Wickmayer fought back before Raducanu steadied to get over the line.
Raducanu, who crashed out of the US Open in the first round last month, overcame a sluggish start and a late wobble to win 6-3, 7-5 in Seoul. The 19-year-old Briton, the sixth seed, will face third seed Magda Linette of Poland next.
