Pool Furious delivered two contrasting Semi Finals in Budapest, with Romeo Ferraris’ Bruno Spengler and CUPRA EKS’ Tom Blomqvist securing top stops in their respective battles. The first Semi Final quickly became a duel between Spengler and Hyundai Motorsport N’s Jean Karl Vernay, with both drivers trading places throughout, while CUPRA EKS’ Adrian Tambay suffered a mapping issue at the start which delayed him significantly.

The Pool FURIOUS Quarter Finals delivered more than their fair share of on-track action at the Hungaroring today, with Romeo Ferraris’ Bruno Spengler and Hyundai’s Motorsport N’s Jean Karl Vernay finishing first in their respective battles. Poleman Adrien Tambay, driving for CUPRA EKS, had a slower start to the Pool FURIOUS Quarter Final 1 than Spengler, moving into second place ahead of team-mate Tom Blomqvist.

Tambay on top for Pool FURIOUS Qualifying

Adrien Tambay, driving for CUPRA EKS, was fastest in both Pool FURIOUS Qualifying sessions this afternoon, setting a best overall lap in 1:54.687. Tambay, sharing his car with this morning’s fastest driver Mattias Ekström, played it safe in Qualifying 1, though still taking the top spot, before improving in the second session to set the top time for Pool FURIOUS.

Hyundai Motorsport N is on a mission to challenge for the King of the Weekend crown as the FIA ETCR eTouring Car World Cup heads to its first permanent circuit of the year with the Hungaroring for round 2 of the series, Race Hu, on June 10-12. After the season-opener saw success for rival manufacturer CUPRA, the Hyundai Motorsport N team is hungry for success at Race HU with a mission to challenge for the King of the Weekend crown as well as move up the manufacturers’ standings in Hungary.

Driver Focus: Luca Filippi

One of two Italian drivers in the Italian Romeo Ferraris squad, Luca Filippi is a tremendously versatile driver with an exceptional motor racing CV which includes the 2005 Formula 3000 Italy title, GP2 Series success (2009-2010 runner-up in the Asia Series and 2011 in the Main Series), the role of official Honda test driver in Formula 1, appearances in IndyCar in America – including a podium in 2015 – and participation in GT and Touring races. Luca has electric motor sport credentials too, with the 2017-2018 edition of Formula E.
