LONDON : England wicketkeeper Ben Foakes and batsman Liam Livingstone have been given annual central contracts while Dawid Malan and Jason Roy have dropped from full deals to increment ones, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on Tuesday.
England white-ball veteran Jason Roy's struggles with form in the ongoing season have resulted in him being downgraded to an incremental deal while the country's T20 star Liam Livingstone has earned his first full contract in the new central contract offers for 2022-23 season announced by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday. These contracts are in effect from October 1 onwards. "The England and Wales Cricket Board has announced the Central Contract offers for England Men's international cricket for the year from 1 October 2022," said a statement from the board.

The board also announced increment contracts for Harry Brook, Matthew Potts, Reece Topley and David Willey in its 30-man overall list, which has players set to feature in red-ball and white-ball matches during the next 12 months. The increment contracts recognise players who may feature for England on a less predictable basis.
Jos Buttler is back in his all-action role as captain, opening batsman and wicketkeeper as power-packed England prepare to launch their bid for Twenty20 World Cup glory. The white ball star missed his side's recent 4-3 series win in Pakistan with a calf injury and in his absence Alex Hales and Phil Salt impressed at the top of the batting order, with Salt taking the gloves. But Buttler appeared to end speculation over whether he might relinquish his wicket-keeping role or drop down the batting order in the first game of a three-match series against Australia on Sunday.

Cricket South Africa's premier T20 competition will get underway on January 10 next year and six teams -- MI Cape Town, Durban Super Giants, Johannesburg Super Kings, Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals and SunRisers Eastern Cape will be participating in the tournament. All six franchises have owners who have teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the competition is being touted as the next big thing in terms of T20 cricket. As there are only 90 odd days to go for the competition, former South Africa spinner Robin Peterson, who is also the general manager of MI Cape Town, spoke to NDTV on what to expect from the tournament.
Jos Buttler has declared himself fit for Sunday's opening Twenty20 international against Australia but Liam Livingstone's ankle injury makes the all-rounder doubtful for their World Cup opener later this month. Buttler, recovering from a nagging calf injury, watched from the sidelines as England beat Pakistan 4-3 before flying into Australia, where they play three 20-overs matches against the world champions. "I'm back to 100 percent," Buttler told reporters in Perth on Saturday.
