:England skipper Jos Buttler hammered a superb 83 off 45 balls to steer his side to a seven-wicket victory in the second Twenty20 international against West Indies in Barbados on Sunday, with the tourists storming to a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
Phil Salt smashed a scintillating century and Barbados-born Jacob Bethell blasted an unbeaten 58 as England romped to an eight-wicket victory over West Indies in their opening T20I clash at Kensington Oval on Saturday. Chasing a target of 183 to win, England opener Salt guided the tourists home with 19 balls to spare after a dazzling unbeaten 103 in Bridgetown. Salt's third T20 international century came off just 54 balls, including nine fours and six sixes as England cantered to victory, finishing on 183-2 in the 17th over.
England white-ball skipper Jos Buttler, set to play his first game of competitive cricket after the T20 World Cup semifinal loss to India due to a calf injury sustained in August, has said that he is hungry to play as much as possible and help develop a new limited-overs team for England under head coach Brendon McCullum, who will take over ODI and T20I sides next year. After missing out on months of white-ball action, Buttler is back in Barbados for the first T20I of the five-match series against West Indies.
Interim England head coach Marcus Trescothick has admitted that it has been a challenging time for the side after losing the ODI series to the West Indies.
