Thousands of music fans have started pouring into Heaton Park, as Parklife 2022 finally gets underway. The UK's largest metropolitan festival will welcome 80,000 people today, as Manchester's biggest music event resumes its usual June spot - and this year's festivities are set to bigger and better than ever.
Heaton Park in north Manchester is set to welcome more than 80,000 music fans as Parklife returns this weekend (Saturday 11 - Sunday 12 June). And the Manchester Evening News went along today for a tour of the Parklife site to see what the festival space will look like, with less than 48 hours to go before the big event.
This weekend will see Manchester awash with giant music events across the city as artists flock to strut their stuff at venues from the Etihad Stadium to Heaton Park.
Round two of Parklife 2022 at Heaton Park features a massive line-up of international talent from Tyler, The Creator and Megan Thee Stallion, to Bicep and Eric Prydz. The UK’s largest metropolitan festival returns to Manchester on June 11 and 12 - following a September stint in 2021 due to Covid restrictions.
Parklife 2022 takes place on 11 and 12 June and a small number of tickets are still available for those who want to attend the festival.
When Parklife was first launched in 2010 it was a much smaller affair. Held over at Platt Fields Park in Fallowfield, it was just one day, 20,000 tickets were sold, and Ian Brown performed the night before. Not too shabby. But 12 years on Parklife is now a whole other beast.
