Jamie Carragher said Manchester City got lucky with a “major mix-up” between officials during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
Pep Guardiola credited a failure to be precise in the final third as the reason why Manchester City left Villa Park with just a point, rather than three, on Saturday.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola blamed his players' failure to do the ‘simple things’ for their 1-1 draw at Aston Villa. The away side took the lead with another goal from new signing Erling Haaland shortly after the start of the second half but Leon Bailey levelled for Steven Gerrard’s men later on. Ad Both teams had chances to win the game, and speaking to the BBC after the game, Guardiola acknowledged it was far from their best performance.
Erling Haaland became only the second player in Premier League history to reach 10 goals in their first six appearances but Manchester City failed to make their dominance count as Leon Bailey secured a much-needed draw for Aston Villa.

Erling Haaland extended his remarkable start to life in the Premier League, but Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw after Leon Bailey snatched a late equaliser for struggling Aston Villa on Saturday. Haaland has been remarkably prolific since his 51 million pounds ($58 million) move from Borussia Dortmund in the close-season and he struck again in the second half at Villa Park. The Norway striker's 10th goal in his first six Premier League games gave him a share of the record with Micky Quinn, who hit the same tally for Coventry in 1992.
