Leicester City were promoted to the Premier League on Friday after rivals Leeds United crashed to a shock 4-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers. The result leaves Leicester top of the Championship with 94 points with two games to play while Leeds stay second on 90 but with just one match left. Third-place Ipswich Town can pip Leeds to the second automatic promotion place as they currently have 89 points with three matches still to play. "It's not in our hands anymore (automatic promotion), we need to be honest," Leeds boss Daniel Farke told the BBC.

Abdul Fatawu scored a hat-trick as Leicester thrashed Southampton 5-0 to move to the brink of promotion back to the Premier League on Tuesday. Wilfred Ndidi and Jamie Vardy were also on target for the Foxes, who need just one more win from their remaining two games to guarantee a place in the Championship's top two. A chastening defeat ends Southampton's chances of automatic promotion as they now must recover in time for the playoffs. Leicester moved four points clear of Leeds with both sides having two matches remaining.
Leicester collected a much-needed victory as goals from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Stephy Mavididi and Jamie Vardy completed a comeback which gave Enzo Maresca's side a 3-1 win over Norwich at the King Power Stadium.
