South Africa on Friday defeated Pakistan by six runs in a thriller to register their second win of the ongoing ICC Women's World Cup at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. Pacer Shabnim Ismail showcased some world-class death bowling skills as Pakistan lost two wickets in the final over. Needing 10 runs in the last over, Pakistan lost the wickets of Diana Baig and Ghulam Fatima. The wicket of Diana Baig, however, caught the attention of fans as Ismail completed a brilliant catch off her own bowling to dismiss the Pakistan player.

Defending 10 runs in the last over, Ismail (3/41) picked two wickets while giving away just three runs to power South Africa to their second win of the tournament. Earlier, South Africa overcame an excellent spell by spinner Ghulam Fatima (3/52) to post a competitive 223/9, riding on half-centuries by opener Laura Wolvaardt (75) and skipper Suner Luus (62).
It was far from clinical, and the game was in the balance for large periods, but the Proteas secured a thrilling 6-run victory over Pakistan in their second World Cup clash in Mount Maunganui on Friday.
