Ishan Kishan played a ball from Obed McCoy with soft hands and immediately called for a quick single. One of the most talked about incident of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 was the face-off of Royal Challengers Bangalore's Virat Kohli with Lucknow Super Giants members, particularly mentor Gautam Gambhir and pacer Naveen-ul-Haq. Throughout the match, Kohli could be seen being quite animated whenever an LSG batter was getting dismissed during the chase. After the match ended, the Kohli and Gambhir shook hands and things looked perfectly normal. Then, LSG opener Kyle Mayers walked up to Kohli and started saying something to the RCB great.

Chasing a modest 150-run target at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, the tourists faltered and failed to make a comeback. Earlier, India put a good effort with the ball by restricting the West Indies at 149 for 6 in 20 overs. However, former India batter Aakash Chopra is not pleased with the captaincy of Hardik. He stated that the India captain "missed a trick" during their bowling against West Indies.
Yuzvendra Chahal left everyone impressed as the veteran spinner took two wickets in the first three balls of his spell during the first T20I encounter between India and West Indies on Thursday. He struck on the first ball of the fifth over as Kyle Mayers was completely fooled by his spinning delivery and the ball crashed into his pads. The umpire had no hesitation in raising his finger and even the batter decided to not go for a review. Two balls later, it was another LBW and this time, it was Brandon King who missed a straighter delivery and ended up gifting his wicket to Chahal.
