NEW DELHI : Gujarat Titans will be seeking to cap their dream debut season by winning the title while revenge will be on the minds of the Rajasthan Royals when the teams clash in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday.
Rajasthan Royals opening batter was at his blistering best against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Qualifier 2 of the ongoing IPL 2022 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday. The right-handed batter went on to play an unbeaten knock of 106 to help Rajasthan chase down 158 with seven wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare. As a result of this win, Rajasthan booked their place in the IPL 2022 final where they will take on Gujarat Titans on Sunday at the same venue.
Considered by many to be one of the best batters in cricket history, Rahul Dravid has been on the receiving end of plenty of praises from experts and former players. Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara joined the bandwagon on Thursday during a brief interaction with Lasith Malinga. The former wicketkeeper-batter was asked about who would he choose to bat for his life. Without giving it a thought, Sangakarra replied, "Rahul Dravid, he's unbelievable in that role."
Just a day after Gautam Gambhir's fiery dressing speech to Lucknow Super Giants caught the attention of cricket fans, Rajasthan Royals director of cricket Kumar Sangakkara's speech is also garnering a lot of attention. Sanga's speech though was a little different. While Gambhir spoke about the need to have "game sense" and to "not give up", Sangakkara focussed on the quality that was there in the Royals camp and asked his team to chin up after a big defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals which kept their playoff hopes in the balance.

Sri Lankan cricket greats Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene have hit out at the government after five people were killed in political violence and more than 200 injured. Current and former cricketers enjoy a massive fan following in Sri Lanka and their comments carry weight. "Peaceful protesters demanding for their basic needs and rights attacked by despicable thugs and goons backed by the thugs and goons in the government. Disgusting," Sangakkara wrote on Twitter.
Rajasthan Royals defeated Delhi Capitals by 15 runs on Friday at Wankhede Stadium but the match became a huge talking point over what transpired in the final over of the game when Delhi needed 36 to win. Rovman Powell smashed three sixes off the first three balls, but the third delivery of the over was a full toss and Delhi Capitals camp thought it was an over-the-waist no-ball. After it was not called by the on-field officials and when they did not refer it to the third umpire, Delhi Capitals' assistant coach Pravin Amre walked out to the pitch to have a word with the umpires.
