The Lisbon Lions have been chosen as the fourth-best team in British football history following a poll of experts at best-selling soccer magazine Four Four Two. The Liverpool side of 1980-84, with Scots trio Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness and Alan Hansen their key men, won the European Cup in 1981 and 1984 and were ranked second in this list. Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United were the first English club to win the much-coveted treble their noisy neighbours completed 24 years later. The ending to their 2-1 Champions League final win over Bayern Munich is part of football’s folklore and they claimed third place.
