TUNISIA: Tunisia’s President Kais Saied on Wednesday awarded tennis superstar Ons Jabeur the country’s National Order of Merit, to honor her recent sporting achievements.
Ons Jabeur, who became the first Arab or African woman to reach a Grand Slam singles final last week, was honoured by Tunisian President Kais Saied on Thursday for "her remarkable sporting successes".
Also, Tunisia's main opposition party rejects President Kais Saied's dissolution of parliament and vows to boycott his planned referendum. The assembly was dissolved after more than 100 MPs took part in an online vote against the leader's 2021 power grab.
