Faf du Plessis and Kagiso Rabada lead the South African charge as the Indian Premier League (IPL) reaches its business end.
Kagiso Rabada has been Punjab Kings' star bowler in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. He is their top wicket-taker with 18 scalps from 10 matches. He has a strike-rate of just 12.3 with an economy of 8.72. His team is always doing decently well in the IPL 2022 with five wins and six losses in 11 games. They are currently at the seventh place and still have a chance of making the play-offs. They face Royal Challengers Bangalore in a crucial tie on Friday and a win make take them closer to the top-four.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 91 runs in Match 55 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Chasing a target of 209 runs, DC were bowled out for 117 in 17.4 overs with Moeen Ali taking three wickets in his four overs. Meanwhile, Mukesh Choudhary and Dwayne Bravo bagged two wickets each. Initially, Chennai posted 208 for six in 20 overs with Devon Conway hammering 87 runs off 49 balls.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 75 runs in Match 53 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Saturday. Chasing a target of 177 runs, KKR were bowled out for 101 in 14.3 overs. Avesh Khan and Jason Holder were in top form for LSG's bowling department, taking three wickets each. Earlier, a knock of 50 runs off 29 balls by Quinton de Kock helped LSG post 176 for seven in 20 overs.
Jos Buttler played a central role once again as Rajasthan Royals (RR) chased down 190 to beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six wickets in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 clash on Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Before his swashbuckling 16-ball 30 in RR's chase, Buttler also took a stunning catch to send the dangerous Shikhar Dhawan back to the pavilion. Dhawan was getting settled, with opening partner Jonny Bairstow doing the heavy lifting in the early stages of PBKS' opening partnership, but in the final over of the Powerplay, the veteran left-hander tried to up the tempo and take on Ravichandran Ashwin.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was presented with one more opportunity to justify his selection. The young southpaw grabbed it with both hands, slamming a fiery half-century to almost single-handedly help Rajasthan Royals beat Punjab Kings by six wickets and arrest a two match winless streak. Rajasthan's chase of 190 got off to a flier with Jaiswal and Jos Buttler clobbering the new-ball duo of Sandeep Sharma and Kagiso Rabada for 46 runs off a mere 23 balls before being separated by the South African pacer. AS IT HAPPENEDRabada brought the smiles back to the Punjab camp by packing Englishman Buttler for a 16-ball 30, caught by Bhanuka Rajapaksha at short-third man. But there was more misery in store for the bowling side once Jaiswal launched a counter-attack with a 41-ball 68 powered by nine hits to the fence and a couple into the Wankhede stands. The 20-year-old knew he had one chance to impress the team management and with his skipper Sanju Samson at the other end, the stage was set for him to explode. The left-right duo added 39 runs for the second wicket before Samson once again wasted a decent start of 23 off 12 deliveries.
IPL 2022, PBKS vs RR, Live Score Updates: Jos Buttler finally departed to Kagiso Rabada after taking the bowler to the cleaners, hitting the latter for a six and three fours in the same over. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler gave Rajasthan Royals a strong start in their bid to chase down the 190-run target set by Punjab Kings. Jonny Bairstow hit a fine half-century while Jitesh Sharma scored 38 runs in 18 balls towards the end of the innings to help Punjab Kings post 189/5 in 20 overs vs Rajasthan Royals. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled brilliantly and registered figures of 3/28. Earlier, Punjab Kings Openers Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan gave their team a brisk start against Rajasthan Royals bowlers after opting to bat first in the 52nd match of the ongoing IPL 2022 season at Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. Currently, at the seventh spot in the points table, Punjab need to keep winning in order to keep their hopes alive of qualifying for the playoffs. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals are at the third spot with 12 points and they would look to peak at the right time to cement their place in the top four. Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal are the current holders of the Orange and Purple Cap and the duo have been a big reason why Rajasthan have tasted success this season. Punjab would have their hands full in order to stop the duo at Wankhede. (LIVE SCORECARD)
