It's a Napolitano day at the Giro d’Italia! Stage 6 on Thursday, May 11 sees the riders start and finish in Naples as Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-QuickStep) seeks to bounce back from his double crash on Wednesday. The Belgian favourite appeared to be out of the race after hitting the deck when a dog ran into the peloton, but after spending over a minute on the tarmac he belatedly returned to the saddle. But the drama was not over.
Mark Cavendish (Astana Qazaqstan) was lauded for his incredible bike handling on The Breakaway despite crashing in a dramatic sprint on Stage 5 at the Giro d’Italia. Dan Lloyd and Robbie McEwen lent their support to Kaden Groves after he was singled out by Remco Evenepoel following a crash at Stage 2 of the Giro d’Italia. “I was actually just next to the cause of the crash, so I think everybody saw there were barriers on the left,” Evenepoel said.
