FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The New England Patriots are in discussions with their former assistant Joe Judge — who was fired after two seasons as head coach of the New York Giants — to return for a role on the team's offensive staff, sources confirmed to ESPN.
The New York Giants are finalizing a deal to hire Don «Wink» Martindale as their new defensive coordinator, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The NFL regular season is behind us, and we have two head-coaching openings. The first two hires of this job cycle were made in late January with the Denver Broncos hiring Nathaniel Hackett and the Chicago Bears appointing Matt Eberflus. The New York Giants followed with Brian Daboll, and then the Las Vegas Raiders chose Josh McDaniels. The Jacksonville Jaguars were next, as they named Doug Pederson their coach Thursday. The Miami Dolphins hired Mike McDaniel on Sunday and the Houston Texans followed by reportedly hiring Lovie Smith on Monday.
