Montmel, Spain, June 4, 2022 (AFP) -Aleix Espargaro rode his Aprilia into pole position for the Catalonia MotoGP after topping the times with a new track record in Saturday's qualifying for the ninth round of the world championship.
BARCELONA : Aprilia's Aleix Espargaro broke the lap record twice in hot conditions to claim his second pole of the season at the Catalunya Grand Prix in Barcelona on Saturday.
The Aprilia rider produced a new lap record of Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona earlier in the day in third free practice, and duly repeated the feat with a 1m38.742s with his penultimate lap in qualifying.
