LONDON : The first morning of the second Ashes test at Lord's was interrupted when two Just Stop Oil protesters ran on to the ground and scattered orange powder on the outfield.
The second Ashes Test between England and Australia at Lord's had to be halted for a few minutes after two protestors invaded the pitch and threw orange power paint on the ground. The commentators believed that they were protestors as part of the 'Just Stop Oil' movement and they have carried out these protests in various other occasions. The fans were left stunned when England wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow picked up one of the protestors and carried him off the ground himself. The England international got some paint on his kit and had to rush back to the dressing room in order to change them. The ground staff quickly cleaned up the ground and the match resumed without any problem.
Just Stop Oil protesters stopped the second Ashes Test with England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow forced to take matters into his own hands.

England have included Josh Tongue in their XI to face Australia in the second Ashes Test at Lord’s after Moeen Ali was left out following a finger injury. Tongue, 25, took five wickets in the second innings as England beat Ireland at Lord’s earlier this month. Ad He has been picked ahead of fellow pace bowler Mark Wood, who again misses out on a spot in the team.
Spin bowler Rehan Ahmed has been added to England’s Ashes squad as cover for Moeen Ali. Ali — who took three wickets in the first Test defeat against Australia — is struggling with a finger injury.
Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting said that England have some selection issues to deal with and suggested that wicket-keeper batter Jonny Bairstow's errors were one of the main reasons England lost the first Test. Moeen Ali had a finger injury on Day 3 of the Test, limiting his bowling abilities. Bairstow has been chastised for his glove failures in the first Ashes Test against Australia at Edgbaston. "As far as I'm concerned now, England have more questions to answer than Australia. On their style of play, but also now looking at that first Test, they've got some selection issues that they're going to have to deal with as well," Ponting told ICC.
