Steven Kruijswijk is out of the Tour de France after suffering a horror injury of Stage 15. The Jumbo-Visma rider went down with 60km to go in an incident also involving Martijn Tusveld (Team DSM). Ad/> The accident looked severe enough for Wout van Aert to stop and check on his fallen team-mate, who appeared in great distress as he clutched his right arm in what looked like a bad shoulder injury.
Jumbo-Visma Sport Director Frans Maassen has explained that Primoz Roglic abandoning the Tour de France was because he was «suffering a lot». Roglic took the decision to pull out of the race ahead of Stage 15 «to allow my injuries to heal» following a crash on Stage 5. Ad/> Speaking ahead of the Stage, Maassen described the difficulties Roglic was having and intimated that the decision came from above rather than from the rider himself.

Primoz Roglic, the 2020 Tour de France runner-up, did not start Sunday’s 15th stage of the 21-stage event.
Primoz Roglic has made the decision to withdraw from the Tour de France ahead of the start of Stage 15. Roglic suffered a nasty fall on Stage 5 from Lille to Arenberg, colliding with a hay bale in an incident that left him with excruciating back pain. Ad/> The Slovenian carried on bravely through the Alps section of the race, fulfilling a critical role in getting Jumbo-Visma team-mate Jonas Vingegaard into the yellow jersey on Stage 11.
Jonas Vingegaard has joked that Tadej Pogacar «might even attack him on the rest day» as he revealed the constant threat the Slovenian is posing to his GC ambitions. Jumbo-Visma's Vingegaard assumed the race lead from Pogacar after a brilliant, coordinated assault on the Slovenian on Stage 11 in the high Alpine mountains. But Pogacar wants his revenge, and has attacked constantly since that day in a bid to rescue the yellow jersey, even trying a dig 185km out from the finish on Saturday's run up to Mende.
