Swim king Hafnaoui wants to be Tunisia’s greatest Olympian
TUNIS: Double world champion swimmer Ahmed Hafnaoui said Wednesday he wants to become Tunisia’s greatest ever Olympian at the Paris Games next year. The 20-year-old, who captured the 800m and 1,500m freestyle golds at the world championships in Japan last week, said he wants to “break the record for the Tunisian having the most medals and break all the world records.” Long-distance runner Mohammed Gammoudi is Tunisia’s most successful Olympian with four medals between 1964 and 1972.
Morocco stun Colombia to reach last 16 and dump out Germany
Perth, Australia: Anissa Lahmari’s winner powered World Cup debutants Morocco past Colombia 1-0 on Thursday and into the last 16 at the expense of two-time champions Germany. Morocco’s upset in Perth lifted them to six points and they finished runners-up in Group H to Colombia on goal difference. French police raid PSG boss over lobbyist's torture claims
PARIS: French police raided the home of Paris Saint-Germain boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi on Wednesday in an investigation into a man's claims of detention and torture in Qatar, a source close to the case told AFP. Franco-Algerian Tayeb Benabderrahmane, 42, filed a complaint in January saying he was arrested in January 2020 in Qatar, where he had recently moved to work as a lobbyist.
