Stuart Broad might have reacted angrily to being left out of the first Test of the last Ashes series but he has promised to be the model of equanimity if he is forced to relive the experience at Edgbaston next week, saying: “It’s not about me, it’s about the collective.”
Cricket Australia revealed their World Test Championship (WTC) Team of the Tournament and it included just three Indians. The list had Babar Azam over India star Virat Kohli while the upcoming superstar Shubman Gill failed to secure a spot. The spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were the preferred slow-bowling options in the side while Rishabh Pant was selected as the wicket-keeper considering his heroics against Australia. While Pant has been ruled out of his injuries, Jadeja and Ashwin are in the running to play for India in the WTC Final against Australia at the Oval.
England have named an unchanged 16-man squad for the first two Ashes Tests of the summer with Josh Tongue’s fine debut against Ireland enough to keep his place in the group.

Team India have begun its preparations for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia, starting June 7 at the Oval in London. Some members of the Indian team have already reached the venue, ahead of the summitt clash, after their respective teams failed to qualify for the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs. The likes of Axar Patel, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur, among others arrived in London earlier this week and were accompanied by Team India's support staff, including head coach Rahul Dravid.
