Ishan Kishan was ruled out of Sunday's third T20 International against Sri Lanka after taking a blow to his head in the last match, even as the BCCI said his CT scan reports are "normal". Kishan was admitted to a city hospital and underwent a brain scan after being struck on the head by a Lahiru Kumara bouncer during the second T20I against Sri Lanka on Saturday evening. Indian Premier League will start in Mumbai on March 26 and end on May 29 with around 40 percent crowd being allowed at the start of the tournament. "The IPL will start on Saturday, March 26," IPL chairman Brijesh Patel told PTI after the governing council meeting on Thursday. With two new teams Lucknow Supergiants and Gujarat Titans added to the roster, there will be 74 matches with 70 of them being played at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium and Brabourne Stadium along with Navi Mumbai's DY Patil ground and Gahunje Stadium in Pune.
Wriddhiman Saha has received an outpouring of support after sharing a screenshot of messages he received from a journalist following the Indian selection committee's decision to drop him from the Test squad for the two-match series against Sri Lanka. Speaking to PTI, BCCI Treasurer Arun Dhumal had said the board would look into the matter and that BCCI secretary Jay Shah "will certainly speak to Wriddhiman". Maharashtra State Sports Commissioner Omprakash Bakoria has written to the BCCI seeking "strict action" against India U-19 World Cup-winning member Rajvardhan Hangargekar for age fraud. In a letter dated February 8, Bakoria wrote to BCCI secretary Jay Shah that the pacer had altered his birth date from January 10, 2001 to November 10, 2002 and was thus over-age when he competed in the recently-concluded U-19 World Cup.
