NEW DELHI : Barely three months to go before the start of the 50-overs World Cup, the organising Indian cricket board has said the schedule would be adjusted and an Oct. 15 India v Pakistan humdinger in Ahmedabad could be among matches affected.

Due to the first day of Navratri falling on October 15, some reports claimed that the India-Pakistan match will be shifted to October 14.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials, including president Roger Binny and secretary Jay Shah, met in New Delhi on Thursday to discuss the plans for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India. The tournament will start on October 5, with the final set to be played on November 19 in Ahmedabad. As per sources, members from the 10 hosting venues have also been invited to the meeting, which was called by Shah. However, the biggest topic of discussion will be the rescheduling India vs Pakistan match.
India will get to fine tune their World Cup preparations with a three-match ODI series against Australia besides playing eight T20 Internationals and five Tests against England during the 2023-2024 home season. The first ODI against Australia will be in Mohali on September 22 with Indore and Rajkot hosting the remaining two on September 24 and 27 respectively. Ayesha Naseem, an 18-year-old Pakistan women's cricketer, has reportedly announced retirement from the game due to religious reasons. Ayesha has so far played played four ODIs and 30 T20Is. She is a top-order batter, who has scored 369 runs in T20Is at an average of 18.45. In ODIs, she has a tally of 33 runs. At the 2023 Women's 2023 T20 World Cup, Ayesha scored a 25-ball 43* for Pakistan against India. According to a report in Cricket Pakistan, Ayesha has already informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about her decision.
