Everton have strongly condemned the abuse directed at defender James Tarkowski after Wednesday’s Merseyside derby.
Tekel James Tarkowski ke Alexis Mac Allister pada Derby Merseyside hanya diganjar kartu kuning. Badan Wasit Profesional Inggris (PGMOL) menilai hal sebaliknya.
David Moyes believes James Tarkowski was lucky to avoid a red card for his reckless challenge on Alexis Mac Allister as Everton were beaten 1-0 by Liverpool on a controversial night at Anfield.
Manajer Liverpool Arne Slot tak mau mengomentari lebih jauh soal tekel James Tarkowski ke Alexis Mac Allister. Dia lebih senang membicarakan gol Diogo Jota.
Liverpool re-established their 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League with Diogo Jota's strike against Everton settling a second controversial Merseyside derby of the season.
Liverpool moved closer to the Premier League title with a 1-0 win in the Merseyside derby against Everton on Wednesday, while Manchester City beat Leicester 2-0 to bolster their bid to reach the Champions League. With just eight games left, Liverpool sit 12 points clear of second-placed Arsenal, who beat Fulham 2-1 on Tuesday. Arne Slot's side had lost their previous two games in the League Cup final against Newcastle and the Champions League last 16 against Paris Saint-Germain. But they got back on track in their march towards a record-equalling 20th English title, and first since 2020, in Slot's maiden season in charge.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot said he does not agree with the offside rule that meant Diogo Jota's goal stood to beat Everton 1-0 on Wednesday, but that the right decision was made. Jota fired home the only goal just before the hour mark at Anfield as Liverpool opened up a 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League. Luis Diaz had been in an offside position when James Tarkowski cut out a pass towards the Colombian. But Diaz then pounced on the loose ball to tee up Jota to drill in his first goal since January. Everton boss David Moyes said he was disappointed to lose a derby to a "clearly offside goal". However, Slot said the officials did get the decision right as the rules stand given Tarkowski deliberately played the ball.
LIVERPOOL, England :Liverpool boss Arne Slot had little to say about James Tarkowski's controversial bone-rattling tackle on Alexis Mac Allister during Wednesday's heated 1-0 Premier League victory over Everton, saying numerous people had done the talking for him.
