Harry Brook, Joe Root Among Players To Get ECB Multi-Year Contract; Ben Stokes In One-Year Category
Seven players, including Harry Brook, were among 29 England cricketers who were awarded central contracts by the ECB for the first time, while premier all-rounder and Test captain Ben Stokes was given a one-year contract on Tuesday. The deal pre-dated from October 1 this year also includes a first-of-its-kind multi-year contracts, which were offered to 18 players including Brook, Joe Root and recuperating pacer Jofra Archer. Apart from Brook, Rehan Ahmed, Gus Atkinson, Brydon Carse, Ben Duckett, Matthew Potts and Josh Tongue received the contract for the first time.

England To Host Zimbabwe For Test In 2025
England will host Zimbabwe in a men's Test match for the first time in 22 years in May 2025. The four-day Test will take place from May 28-31, with the venue for the one-off match to be confirmed at a later date. Jimmy Anderson, England's leading Test wicket-taker, made his debut the last time his country faced Zimbabwe in 2003. "We are delighted to be able to host Zimbabwe for a men's Test match for the first time in two decades," ECB chief executive Richard Gould said on Tuesday.
