Hubert Hurkacz saved five match points as he fought back to beat Thanasi Kokkinakis in a three and a half hour epic while fourth-seed Daniil Medvedev got his Miami Open bid under way with an easy win on Saturday. Hurkacz was pushed all the way by the Australian lucky loser Kokkinakis before emerging with a 6-7 (10/12), 7-6 (9/7), 7-6 (8/6) victory.

Carlos Alcaraz fended off tenacious Tallon Griekspoor 7-6 (7/4), 6-3 on Monday to reach the fourth round at Indian Wells as he and women's top seed Iga Swiatek passed tough tests in the California desert.

Felix Auger-Aliassime secured his place in the Last-16 of Indian Wells with a straight-sets win over Argentina's Francisco Cerundolo. Auger-Aliassime, the eighth seed, was the heavy favourite against Cerundolo but it was nip and tuck in the first set with the Canadian breaking first — in the very first game — but then seeing his advantage taken back by the dogged Cerundolo, who forged ahead at 5-4.
Novak Djokovic extended his record of weeks as world number one to 379 in the latest ATP rankings released on Monday, although Carlos Alcaraz remains in hot pursuit.
