Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Varun Chakravarthy is looking forward to clinching the wickets of India captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. Asked about the batters he would most like to dismiss in IPL 2025, Chakravarthy named his teammates, including the legendary batting duo of Rohit and Kohli among others. "Definitely any batsman who is in great form. Players like Heinrich Klaasen, Nicholas Pooran, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav - these guys are all the star players. I would be very happy if I could pick their wickets," he said on JioHotstar's special show 'Gen Bold'.

Mitchell Starc bags five as Delhi beat Hyderabad in IPL

VISAKHAPATNAM, India: Australia’s Mitchell Starc claimed his first five-wicket haul in T20 cricket to help Delhi Capitals down Sunrisers Hyderabad for their second straight win in the Indian Premier League on Sunday. Starc, a left-arm quick, returned figures of 5-35 as Delhi bowled out Hyderabad for 163 in 18.4 overs in their second home at Visakhapatnam. South African veteran Faf du Plessis then smashed 50 off 27 balls and put on 81 runs for the first wicket with Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, who hit 38, as Delhi achieved their target with four overs and seven wickets to spare. Hyderabad’s innings started badly as Abhishek Sharma was run out early for one when he was involved in a mix-up with fellow opener Travis Head. Starc then struck twice in one over to send back Ishan Kishan and Nitish Reddy and then got fellow Australian Head caught behind for 22 as Hyderabad slipped to 37-4 in 4.1 overs. Indian batter Aniket Verma, who top-scored with 74, and South African wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen then put on an attacking stand of 77 in an attempt to hit back. Klaasen fell on 32 off 19 balls to Mohit Sharma, but Aniket kept up the charge in an eye-catching 41-ball knock laced with five fours and six sixes. Fraser-McGurk ended Aniket’s blitz with a stunning catch at deep mid-wicket when he timed his jump to pluck a traveling ball out of the air and hand spinner Kuldeep Yadav a prized wicket. Kuldeep, a left-arm wrist spinner, claimed figures of 3-22 before Starc completed his five to wrap up the Hyderabad innings. In reply, Du Plessis came out firing as he smashed India fast bowler Mohammed Shami for a six and three fours in a 15-run third over to set up the chase. Du Plessis fell after his 50 to Indian

Who Is Zeeshan Ansari: Rishabh Pant's U-19 Teammate Who Took 3 Wickets On IPL Debut For SRH

Zeeshan Ansari had a brilliant outing on debut as the leg-spinner took three wickets on debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad during the IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals on Sunday. The bowler from Uttar Pradesh was included in the squad in place of pacer Simarjeet Singh and although SRH were unable to clinch the victory, Ansari impressed everyone with his spin bowling. Ansari, who was bought for Rs 40 lakh in the mega auction, took the wicket of Faf Du Plessis in his second over before dismissing Jake Fraser-McGurk in the very same over. He also took the wicket of KL Rahul.

"Not What He Was 3-4 Years Ago, Still Relying On Natural Talent": Rohit Sharma Gets Reality Check

Former India player Sanjay Manjrekar has painted a grim picture of Rohit Sharma's current form, saying "things are slipping away" from the senior batter who has reached a point in his career where he has to "push himself every morning". The Mumbai Indians star has flopped in the first two matches of the ongoing Indian Premier League, getting out for eight in the team's latest game against the Gujarat Titans on Saturday.

England Great Michael Vaughan Pokes Fun At IPL With 'Strategic Time Out' Jibe: "Only In..."

Former England cricket team skipper Michael Vaughan took to social media to poke fun at the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a 'strategic time-out' jibe. During the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad, LSG needed just 2 runs to win from the last 4 overs. However, at that point, a strategic time-out was taken - a break that both the batting as well as the bowling team can take during the course of an inning. Vaughan found the scenario hilarious and came up with a witty post. "Only in the IPL can you have a strategic time out with 2 needed off 24 balls with 5 wkts remaining," he posted on X.

After Confrontation Episode, LSG Owner's Special Gesture For Rishabh Pant

A dominant all-round display from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) saw them seal a five-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025 on Thursday. Shardul Thakur bagged a four-wicket haul on a placid track as LSG restricted SRH to 190/9, before chasing down the target with 23 balls to spare, courtesy of Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh's fiery half-centuries. The win came as a big relief for LSG captain Rishabh Pant, especially after the crushing loss to Delhi Capitals earlier this week.
