The auction for the inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League turned out to be a memorable one. The event, which was held in Mumbai on Monday, saw India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana being sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 3.4 crores, thus becoming the costliest buy. Among overseas players, Australia's Ashleigh Gardner was picked by Gujarat Giants for Rs 3.2 crore and England's Nat Sciver-Brunt got the same amount from Mumbai Indians. India captain Harmanpreet Kaur went to Mumbai Indians for Rs 1.80 crore while Deepti Sharma went to UP Warriorz for Rs 2.60 crore. Shafali Verma got Rs 2 crore from Delhi Capitals. Jemimah Rodrigues got Rs 2.2 crore from the same team.
