Harmony Tan, ranked No. 115 in the world, and Katie Boulter, who is 118th, continue to make a name for themselves at Wimbledon, reaching the third round of the women's draw on Thursday with upset victories.
Sixth-seed Czech Pliskova broke twice in the opening set to establish a firm grip on the match but Boulter won the second-set tie-break to level the match. A single break in the decider was enough for Boulter, who hit 25 winners, to seal the match.
Venus Williams will play Wimbledon for a 24th time after all.

All is well again between Tamara Korpatsch and Harmony Tan after the duo “talked and figured out all their misunderstandings”.
Tamara Korpatsch has rescinded her comments towards Harmony Tan after she dropped out of their opening doubles match at Wimbledon. Last night, Korpatsch took to Instagram to outwardly share her complaints regarding Tan, who was unable to compete in the doubles match due to an injury she had sustained in her first-round singles game against Serena Williams. Ad/> The German, however, has had a change of heart after supposedly having a conversation with Tan as per her new Instagram story.
LONDON : German Tamara Korpatsch said on Thursday she had sorted out her "misunderstandings" with Harmony Tan, a day after her scathing attack against the French player for pulling out of the women's doubles due to injury.
There was Centre Court disappointment on Wednesday as Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray bowed out of Wimbledon at the second round.
