The anticipation for the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 auction is gaining momentum with 165 players set to go under the hammer in Mumbai on Saturday, December 9. Within this pool, 104 players are Indians while 61 hail from other countries.
As many as 165 players will go under the hammer during the player auction for the second edition of the Women's Premier League scheduled to be held in Mumbai on December 9. The second edition of the WPL could take place in February-March next year. "Out of 165 players, 104 are Indians and 61 are overseas cricketers of which 15 are from associate nations. The total capped players are 56, uncapped players are 109," BCCI said in a release on Saturday.

Also, an additional purse of Rs 1.5 crore will be made available to all the five teams besides the balance they are all left with from the last auction as well as after the recent player releases. 30 slots, including nine overseas, will be filled at the auction.
