Gujarat lost by eight wickets against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2022's Match 21, despite an unbeaten half-century by their captain Pandya. The all-rounder's unbeaten knock of 50 runs off 42 balls helped his side post 162 for seven in 20 overs, setting a target of 163 runs which SRH reached with five balls to spare. Other than getting criticised for his side's lack of runs in the game, Pandya was also under the spotlight for having a go at teammate Mohammed Shami for not attempting a catch. Despite fans not taking it well, the all-rounder received backing from legends Graeme Swann and Matthew Hayden.

Police have registered an offence against two police constables for clicking photos allegedly under influence of alcohol inside the bio-bubble created for IPL players to avoid spread of COVID-19 at the D Y Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, an official said on Tuesday. The incident occurred on Monday evening when the two police constables were in uniform and deployed in the stadium in the Nerul area for providing security to IPL matches, he said. The constables, Ravindra Mate (33), working with the Navi Mumbai police, and Narendra Nagpure (36), attached with the Thane police, left their place of duty in the stadium and entered the bio-bubble, the official said.

Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya admitted that a total of 162 was at least 10 runs short of what would have been a par-score against Sunrisers Hyderabad, which chased down the target by losing only two wickets in an IPL game on Monday. This was Gujarat Titans' first defeat after winning three matches on the trot in their maiden appearance in IPL. "I think batting wise we were 7-10 runs short, that would have made the difference in the end. We started well with the ball, but those two overs where they scored 30 runs, got them back into the game," Hardik said after the match.
