Martin Vaculik won his second Speedway Grand Prix of 2022 with victory at the season-finale in Torun. Vaculik was on top form all night, winning his opening three heats before dominating the final by beating Bartosz Zmarzlik, Maciej Janowski and Leon Madsen. Ad The Slovakian chose Gate 2 for the final and got the perfect start by beating Zmarzlik to Turn 1.
Heat 3 –Woryna, Woffinden, Przedpelski, Zmarzlik Ad There’s a long hold at the start before Bartosz Zmarzlik is sandwiched on the first lap. Tai Woffinden makes a fantastic move around Kacper Woryna on Lap 2, with Zmarazlik diving up the inside to get past his compatriot on the final lap. He nearly overtakes Woffinden too into the final corner.
Bartosz Zmarzlik says the manner he won the 2022 FIM Speedway was “unbelievable” as he took victory at the Grand Prix of Sweden while becoming world champion. A mechanical problem for Leon Madsen in the first semi-final meant Zmarzlik won the title, but he also went on to take his third victory of the season by dominating the final. Ad The now three-time world champion held off Fredrik Lindgren, Maciej Janowski and Tai Woffinden in a one-sided final which he led from start to finish.
The night in Malilla belonged to Bartosz Zmarzlik. Not only did he claim the win on the night, but he was confirmed at 2022’s FIM Speedway Grand Prix world champion. Going into Saturday, Zmarzlik was 20 points in front of Leon Madsen, meaning all he had to do was finish ahead of the Danish rider.
Dan Bewley has continued his fine form, topping the qualifying session for tonight’s main event at the Vojens Speedway Center in Denmark. After having back-to-back wins in Cardiff and Poland, Bewley is the man to watch. Leon Madsen, Bartosz Zmarzlik and Patryk Dudek all set competitive laps, but no-one could beat the man of the moment.
