Borussia Dortmund beat RB Leipzig 2-1 in crucial clash to go top of the Bundesliga. The game started with an electric tempo, with both sides taking risks in possession and leaving lots of space open in behind.

BERLIN: In-form Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt scored a freak first-half goal to secure a 1-0 win at Hoffenheim on Saturday and send his side three points clear at the top of the Bundesliga. Just before half-time, Dortmund captain Marco Reus swung in a free-kick from just outside the box to Brandt, who looked to be trying to get out of the way, but the ball skimmed off his back and into the net. Brandt, who was named Bundesliga player of the month on Thursday, has now scored in five consecutive matches for Dortmund, who are on a nine-match winning streak.
LEIPZIG, Germany : Timo Werner and Emil Forsberg notched up a goal and an assist apiece as RB Leipzig continued their push for a top-four finish by beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 in a Bundesliga clash at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday.
RB Leipzig striker Christopher Nkunku is doubtful for Wednesday's Champions League last 16 clash with Manchester City, manager Marco Rose confirmed on Tuesday.
On the opposite side of the pitch to Nkunku on Wednesday will be star City forward Erling Haaland, who has 32 goals in 31 games since moving to the Etihad Stadium from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund in the summer. Haaland scored more goals against Leipzig during his time in Germany than any other opponent, with six goals in four games, including two in Dortmund's 4-1 German Cup final win over the Red Bulls in the 2020-21 season.
