Paris - The top-ranked Ukranian woman tennis player Elina Svitolina on Monday said she would refuse to play Russian and Belarusian tennis players in tournaments.

Ukrainian world No 15 Elina Svitolina has withdrawn from a WTA Tour event and urged tennis organisations to follow the IOC's recommendation to accept Russian or Belarussian nationals only as neutral athletes.
As Russia's invasion of Ukraine continued on Monday, sporting bodies moved to bar Russian athletes from competing in international events, with FIFA and UEFA suspending Russia's national teams and clubs from international football.
