The world number three had been scheduled to play Wang Xiyu on the first day of main draw action at Eastbourne on Monday. Rybakina also withdrew ahead of her third round match at the French Open citing illness earlier this month and fell to a shock defeat to Donna Vekic in the second round of the German Open last week.

Venus Williams, Elina Svitolina and Liam Broady are among the first wild cards to be given for Wimbledon. The third major of the year at SW19 is just under two weeks away, and the wild cards will swell British representation at the tournament, with 10 Brits so far named across the men's and women's singles lists. Ad Two places remain open on the men's side, while one is left for the women.
