Watch: From David Beckham To Viv Richards, Stars Descend To Congratulate Virat Kohli On Record Ton

India's Virat Kohli scored a record 50th one-day international hundred when he reached three figures in the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand in Mumbai on Wednesday, hailing the landmark as being "like a dream". Kohli, 35, reached his century -- his third of the tournament -- with a two off fast bowler Lockie Ferguson, having faced 106 balls, hitting eight fours and a six, to break the record of 49 ODI hundreds he had shared with Sachin Tendulkar. He did so on his former India team-mate's home ground, with Tendulkar among those applauding at the Wankhede Stadium as Kohli bowed towards his childhood hero and fellow 2011 World Cup-winner. "It feels like a dream. Too good to be true," said Kohli at the innings break after India piled up 397-4. This was Kohli's 279th ODI innings, with the former India captain having also scored a further 71 fifties in addition to his 50 hundreds.

India's dream start almost turned into a nightmare as star batter Virat Kohli survived a big DRS call in their Cricket World Cup semi-final match against New Zealand on Wednesday. Rohit smashed four sixes and as many fours, before being dismissed on 47 off 29 balls. However, a couple of balls later, Kohli survived a big LBW call.

New Zealand will lean on the experience of senior players to tackle the "threat" posed by a rampant India in the World Cup semifinal in Mumbai on Wednesday, says opening batter Devon Conway. New Zealand, who finished fourth in the points table after the 45-match league round, have a dominant record against India in the knockout stage of ICC events. "Hope You Enjoyed Biryani And...": Virender Sehwag's Epic Dig At Pakistan's World Cup Campaign

With Pakistan facing an early exit from the Cricket World Cup 2023, former India batter Virender Sehwag took a dig at the Babar Azam-led side. Pakistan face England in a must-win game at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday. However, with New Zealand currently occupying the fourth and final semi-finals spot after their win over Sri Lanka on Thursday, Pakistan need a huge win over England to push them out on net run-rate. If Pakistan bat first and score 300, they need to bowl England out for 13. They need to maintain a margin of 287 runs if they score more than 300 runs in Kolkata.
