New Zealand strike bowler Trent Boult was recalled on Wednesday for the T20I series against Australia but the hosts will be without Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell. Boult is in a 14-man squad for the three-match series but only available for the last two games in Auckland, with fellow veteran seamer Tim Southee to play just the opening game, in Wellington on February 21. The 34-year-old Boult has been infrequently selected for international duty since being released from his New Zealand central contract in August 2022, allowing him to play in more domestic T20 leagues.
New Zealand vs South Africa 2nd Test Day 1 Live: New Zealand take on South Africa in the second and final Test match of the series at Seddon Park, Hamilton. The Kiwis, who lead 1-0, will aim to seal the series while the Proteas will eye to square it. New Zealand registered a 281-run win victory over South Africa in the first Test at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. Legendary Indian cricket team batter Sunil Gavaskar was very impressed with Chennai Super Kings' activities in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and he made a huge prediction regarding the MS Dhoni-led side. Gavaskar said that CSK lacked a little in bowling during the IPL 2023 but their additions have made them stronger in that department. The former India opener also lauded the team management for balancing youth and experience in the side and backed them to reach the play-offs. The five-time winners are among the most celebrated IPL sides and they have reached the play-offs on 12 occasions.
Legendary Indian cricket team batter Sunil Gavaskar believes that the Chennai Super Kings duo of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway are the best opening pair in the Indian Premier League (IPL) right now. Gavaskar was all praise for the two batters who played a massive role in guiding CSK to their record-equalling fifth title and placed them above the high-profile Royal Challengers Bangalore opening pair of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli. In a recent interaction, Gavaskar was all praise for Conway and Ruturaj with a special emphasis on how they eased the pressure on CSK's No.4 and No. 5 batters.

Star batters Kane Williamson and Rachin Ravindra were named Friday in the New Zealand squad for the two-match home Test series, starting next week, against an inexperienced South Africa side. Williamson returns to the Black Caps after a hamstring strain sidelined him during the recent home Twenty20 series win over Pakistan, which New Zealand took 4-1. Fresh from being named emerging player of the year by the International Cricket Council, rising star Ravindra will take the place of veteran Henry Nicholls, 32, in the middle order.
