The Players Championship, the unofficial «fifth major» on the PGA Tour, is closely contested after second round action. Tiger Woods nearly posted an albatross while shooting one of the lowest third-round scores at the Genesis Invitational in Pacific Palisades, California, on Saturday where he will head into the final-round 12 shots back of leader Jon Rahm.
Justin Rose has a two-shot lead headed ahead of the Monday finish at the weather-affected AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Austin Smotherman and Australia's Harrison Endycott shot nine-under-par rounds of 62 to share the early lead at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in Bermuda.
Rory McIlroy missed the cut at the first FedEx Cup play-off event by bogeying the final hole at TPC Southwind.
