Contrary to slam-bang cricket that is mostly associated with the shortest format of the game, SRH are mostly banking on partnerships to cross the line. They will again look for another good start from their skipper and Abhishek Sharma to score a hat-trick of wins when they meet Kolkata Knight Riders at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Friday.
On Wednesday, Rohit Sharma became the second Indian batter to reach 10,000 T20 runs. The Mumbai Indians (MI) captain reached the huge milestone during his side's Match 23 fixture against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the ongoing IPL 2022 season. The batter smashed a six off Kagiso Rabada's to seal the unique feat but lost his wicket in the next delivery itself as he got a massive top-edge to Vaibhav Arora at short fine leg. The only other Indian batter to reach this milestone is none other than Virat Kohli. Meanwhile, other than Rohit and Kohli, only Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Aaron Finch and David Warner have reached 10,000 in T20 cricket.
Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has added another feather to an already illustrious cap as he completed 10000 runs in T20 cricket during the match against Punjab Kings at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Wednesday. The Indian skipper became the seventh batter overall and second Indian after Virat Kohli to reach the milestone. Needing 25 runs prior to this match, Rohit (10003) achieved the feat in style as he clobbered paceman Kagiso Rabada for a six to cross the 10000-run mark. West Indian legend Chris Gayle is sitting right at the top with 14562 runs to his name followed by Shoaib Malik (11698), Kieron Pollard (11484), Aaron Finch (10499), Virat Kohli (10379) and David Warner (10373).
Young opening batter Prithvi Shaw has been at his best in the ongoing IPL 2022 season as he has managed to score 160 runs in four games for Delhi Capitals, including two half-centuries. He is now getting ample support from David Warner at the other end and the duo make for an entertaining opening partnership. Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting has always held Prithvi in high regard and now he has said that the young Indian batter possibly has as much talent as he had, if not more.
David Warner failed to make an impression in his first outing with Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022, dismissed for 4 by Ravi Bishnoi in the match against Lucknow Super Giants. But the Australian star came roaring back to smash a brilliant 61 off 45 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday to help his team register an emphatic 44-run win at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. After the win over KKR, Warner, who has played for the Delhi franchise previously (Delhi Daredevils), said that he is "absolutely loving" his time with the Capitals.
David Warner is an out and out entertainer, both on and off the field. On Sunday, he entertained the Delhi Capitals fans with his batting and then produced some trademark dance steps on the field, much to the joy of the crowd at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Warner put up one of the video, which it seems was clicked by a fans in the crowd, where he can be seen performing the popular Srivalli dance move during the IPL 2022 match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Posting the video, Warner also captioned it as, "What's your thoughts?? Soo many requests from the fans #pushpa"
Delhi Capitals' (DC) openers that literally ended the Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) challenge at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. Prithvi Shaw and David Warner made a mockery of the strong KKR bowling unit after Shreyas Iyer won the toss and put the rivals in to bat. For the first time this season, KKR failed to get early breakthroughs as the Shaw-Warner duo stitched together a 93-run opening-wicket stand. Although KKR did pull things back a bit in the middle overs, Shardul Thakur (29* off 11 balls) and Axar Patel (22* off 14 balls) added 49 runs off just 3.2 overs in the end to help DC put up 215 for 5, the highest total in this IPL so far.
Openers Prithvi Shaw and David Warner's fearless batting laid the foundation as Delhi Capitals out-batted Kolkata Knight Riders by 44 runs to notch up their second win in the IPL, on Sunday. On a batting belter, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer's decision to put Delhi Capitals in backfired as they piled up 215 for five riding on half-centuries from Shaw (51 off 29 balls) and Warner (61 off 45 balls). In reply, KKR were all-out for 171 in 19.4 overs and it was left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav's evening at the Brabourne Stadium as he exacted sweet revenge against a franchise that didn't treat him too well during his stint as his career came to a halt.
