Updated IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap List After DC vs KKR Game: DC Register First Win

Delhi Capitals registered their first win of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 as they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 4 wickets in Delhi on Thursday. These were the first two points for the David Warner-led side after a series of six consecutive losses in the competition. Warner led by example as he slammed another half-century while Ishant Sharma, Andrich Nortje and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets to bundle out KKR for a score under 130. As a result of the loss, KKR are currently eighth in the table with four points while DC continue to occupy in the last spot with just two points.

"But The Problem Is": Sourav Ganguly's Brutally Honest Verdict On Delhi Capitals In IPL 2023

Delhi Capitals picked up their first victory of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders at Arun Jaitley Stadium by 4 wickets on Thursday and luck certainly played a crucial role in their victory. Unexpectedly rain intervened and forced the game to kick off late than the usual time. The new conditions took KKR by surprise and DC capitalize on the opportunity that came knocking on their door. DC batters however struggled to chase down the low target as their batting unit once again surfaced as the major problem in their unsuccessful campaign.

DC vs KKR, IPL 2023: David Warner, Bowlers Shine As Delhi Capitals Beat Kolkata Knight Riders For First Win Of Season

Skipper David Warner found his perfect hitting arc after Ishant Sharma rolled back the years but even then Delhi Capitals stuttered badly in a modest chase before beating Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets on Thursday to stay afloat in this edition of the IPL. With their backs to the wall after five defeats on the trot, the DC bowling line-up collectively came to the party as KKR managed only 127 on a spicy deck which aided both pacers and spinners alike. Warner, DC's best batter this season, was struggling with his strike-rate in earlier games but on Thursday, he smashed 57 off 41 with the target being reached with four balls to spare.

Rain delayed the start of Delhi Capitals' IPL 2023 match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday in Delhi, however, there was enough action to follow once the game started. DC bowlers struck at regular intervals to skittle out KKR for a low total. The match had a special guest in Apple CEO Tim Cook. He is on a visit to India for the opening of Apple's special stores in Mumbai and Delhi. He has been visiting several places and also met with Indian badminton stars including Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth.

Virat Kohli Completes 600 Fours in IPL, Still Behind Two Batting Greats

Star batter Virat Kohli already has a slew of records whether in IPL or international cricket and on Thursday the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter added another one to his illustrious career. He achieved the feat of 600 IPL fours during the IPL 2023 match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium. The former RCB skipper now has 603 fours to his name in 229 matches after hammering five boundaries during his 59-run knock against PBKS and is third in the list of four-hitters in IPL.

"David Warner and KL Rahul Should Learn From...": Harbhajan Singh On KKR Star

Punjab Kings' dependency on skipper Shikhar Dhawan is a major concern and rest of the players will have to take responsibility if they have to emerge as title contenders in the ongoing IPL, said former India spinner Harbhajan Singh. Dhawan has scored bulk of the runs, amassing 233 in four innings with 99 not out being the highest as PBKS managed two wins and two losses under his captaincy so far.

DC Likely Playing XI Against KKR: Prithvi Shaw To Be Dropped After String Of Poor Shows?

The Delhi Capitals sit bottom of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 standings having lost all 5 matches of their campaign so far. One of the biggest problems for the team has been poor performance of the top order, including young opening batter Prithvi Shaw. With pressure increasing on skipper David Warner and other senior players, the Delhi Capitals management could decide to drop Shaw and make one or two more changes in the team in order to find more stability, hoping for a win against the Knight Riders.
