'David Warner Is Looking Good For WTC Final, Ashes', Says Usman Khawaja

Australian batting stalwart Usman Khawaja believes fellow opener David Warner is probably at his best as he prepares for the tough English summer, which includes the World Test Championship final against India and the Ashes. Warner, 36, had endured a difficult tour of India earlier this year, and even though the Delhi Capitals skipper showed attacking intent while amassing 516 runs from 14 matches in the IPL, he will have his task cut out in the seaming English conditions. However, Warner, likely on his final tour of England, received a big endorsement from Khawaja, who said the stalwart was "looking good" for the challenges ahead.

Veteran batter David Warner has slammed Cricket Australia (CA) for attempting to revoke his lifetime captaincy ban last year. In 2018, Warner, alongwith Steve Smith, was banned for two years, having played his part in a ball-tampering scandal. CA had also imposed a leadership ban on him. However, after CA reworded its code of conduct which initially stated players could not review a sanction once they had accepted it, Warner submitted an appeal to have his ban overturned in November last year.

Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood has been included in the 15-member squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against India beginning at The Oval on June 7. The 32-year-old had flown back home from the Indian Premier League before his side Royal Challangers Bangalore's must-win game against Gujarat Titans due to a side soreness. He has, however, been included in the squad alongside fellow pacers, Test skipper Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland.

Gaikwad who had informed about his marriage schedule prior would be able to join the team after June 5. In his absence, Jaiswal who holds a UK visa will be part of the Indian Squad of the WTC final which will be held between June 7 to June 12 at Oval in England.
