Proud dad Kane Williamson to join New Zealand squad in England

Kane Williamson will join up with New Zealand's squad in England in the coming days after the captain and his wife Sarah Raheem welcomed their second child into the world. Williamson posted a picture of the new baby boy with mum and daughter Maggie on social media, writing: "Welcome to the whanau little man!" Williamson left the Indian Premier League early to return home for the birth and will now join the Black Caps in England in the lead-up to the first Test at Lord's, beginning June 2. Batsman Devon Conway and seamer Tim Southee have already linked up with the squad after their IPL teams failed to make the playoffs. Williamson, fast bowler Neil Wagner and batsman Daryl Mitchell are expected to arrive on Wednesday, on the eve of the second tour match against a Counties XI team in Essex.

With Rajasthan Royals are third in the points table with 16 points, a win over Chennai Super Kings will all but guarantee them a place in the playoffs. Just like on the field, RR players are also enjoying their time off the field. In a recent video posted by RR on their official Twitter, their Kiwi trio of James Neesham, Trent Boult and Daryl Mitchell were seen grooving to a song from the famous Bollywood movie 'Phir Hera Pheri'. The song features famous actors like Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal, and the name of their band was "Dhoom Dhadaka Gang".

Despite Poor Form In IPL 2022, Kane Williamson Will Be In Form In Upcoming England Test Series: NZ Head Coach Gary Stead

New Zealand head coach Gary Stead is hopeful that their skipper Kane Williamson, who went through a lean patch in IPL 2022, will be back to his form in the upcoming Test series against England. Williamson played 13 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad and scored just 216 runs, before flying back to New Zealand on Wednesday for the birth of his second child. "He's a bit disappointed he hasn't got the runs he wanted during the IPL. You don't often see the great players often miss out perhaps as much as he has, but I think what we have to understand, coming back into red-ball cricket, I think that will suit where he's at with his game, his temperament as well," said Stead as reported by ESPNcricinfo.
