But Punjab seemed determined to have the Englishman in their camp and shelled out Rs. 11.5 crore to ensure that. But the day began with South African batsman Aiden Markram being bagged by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 2.6 crore. Mandeep Singh went to Delhi Capitals for Rs. 1.10 crore.

IPL 2022 mega auction and the 10 franchises are all in readiness to vie for the players in what promises to be an action-packed bidding war, spread over two days, to pick up the best cricketing talents from around the world. The 2022 IPL auction, this time, will be held over a 2-day period on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru and a total of 590 players will be going under the hammer. And one of the keenly fought battles at the auction table will be for the foreign players. 220 short-listed overseas talents will be up for grabs. These foreign players have been picked from 14 countries which also include associate nations like Namibia, Nepal and the USA.
