EUGENE, Oregon: There’s another American sprinter making a big comeback this year.
PEBBLE BEACH, California: Allisen Corpuz became the first American in 20 years to make the US Women’s Open her first LPGA title, closing with a 3-under 69 on Sunday and handling her historic moment at Pebble Beach as if she had been there before.
ST. ALBANS, England – Cameron Smith stood on the 18th green, put his hands behind his head and closed his eyes, trying to process the conflicting range of emotions following Sunday’s dramatic finish at LIV Golf London. He was elated to win the individual title, his second victory in 13 regular season starts since joining LIV. It was a perfect way to build momentum entering his title defense in two weeks at the Open Championship. Yet he was disappointed to have missed a 6-foot putt for par that would’ve forced the first team playoff in LIV Golf history. Instead, his bogey on the final hole at Centurion Club dropped his all-Australian Ripper GC into second, one shot behind 4Aces GC, this season’s points leaders that won their second team title of the season while having to sweat out Smith’s putt. “Obviously thrilled about the individual win, but it would’ve been nice to get up there with the boys,” said Smith, who shot a final-round 68 for a winning score of 15 under. “It’s a bit of mixed emotions at the moment.”
Australia’s Cameron Smith enjoyed the ideal preparation for the defence of his Open Championship title at Royal Liverpool with a second victory in the LIV Golf League.
British Open champion Cameron Smith sent a warning shot to his rivals after winning the LIV Golf London event at Centurion Golf Club on Sunday.
Playing in his final event before defending his Open Championship later this month, Cameron Smith survived a closing bogey on Sunday to win the LIV Golf event at Centurion Club in London.
ST ALBANS: Cameron Smith and his Ripper GC are one of four teams yet to reach the podium this LIV Golf League season, but they have an opportunity to end that drought at LIV Golf London — and perhaps even grab their first-ever team trophy.
SOTOGRANDE, Spain: Jason Kokrak had to go through four countries over three days to reach Spain and then managed a 4-under 67 to share the lead with Dustin Johnson in LIV Golf-Valderrama.
