Daniil Medvedev bounced back from his Indian Wells final defeat to Carlos Alcaraz with a dominant 6-1 6-2 victory over Roberto Carballes Baena to advance in the Miami Open. The 27-year-old put on a dazzling display as he emerged victorious in just over an hour to claim his place in the third round in style. Ad Medvedev converted both break points as he wrapped up a one-sided opening set in 32 minutes, hitting nine winners along the way, and although he was spared the humiliation of a bagel, Carballes Baena was outclassed throughout.

Sixth-ranked Medvedev, coming off ATP titles in Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai in the space of three weeks, pushed his win streak to 19 matches and awaits the winner of the other semifinal between top-seeded Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and 13th-ranked Italian Jannik Sinner.
